Assessing the societal value of a service-learning project in information studies during the COVID-19 pandemic

The purpose of this work is to assess the societal value a Service-Learning (SL) project carried out during Covid-19 pandemic by Faculty Information Science Complutense University Madrid (UCM) in collaboration with two Senior Centers City Madrid. aim was support elderly’s integration online activities and train them use Communication Technologies (ICT). analysis based on case study varied range data whose provide multiple insights into experience, emphasizing communicative processes. results corroborate educational experiential learning for students, although impact community appears limited role consumers service that participating elderly ended up playing. evaluation faculty leading corroborated institutional partner provides evidence capacity transformation higher education institutions.
